School Field Trips
Field Trips & Programs are available for local schools from Pre-K up through 5th grade.
We offer a variety of on-site programming, as well as outreach where we can send one of our professional Naturalists to your own classroom.
Our programs are designed to enhance your curriculum, and some have been formulated to help you meet the state of Connecticut’s core science content standards.
We charge for a minimum of 10 students. Our maximum capacity is 20 students per group, and multiple groups can be taught concurrently.
* Please have students visiting our center dress suitably for the outdoors (raincoats, closed shoes, etc.).
Using live or mounted animal specimens, and a variety of hands-on natural and educational materials, we look forward to helping your students explore nature using their senses and their imaginations.
Each of the lessons features ½ hour to 1 ½ hours with one of our professional Naturalists on-site at the Center, or right in your own classroom. On-site programs will usually include a hike along our trails.
