Vernal Pools are very common in the woods, you have probably seen them, but may not realized what they were!

You can find them in just about any flat, wooded area.  We have some great pools here at Woodcock on our Red and Blue trails. You can also see this amazing habitat in many of the open spaces in Ridgefield.

Just make sure that if you visit a Vernal Pool you leave any animals you find in the pool, do not take them home, the pool is their home!
